District 2 was pretty deserted. From the 39th floor of the Bitexco Tower, it just looks like swamp land.
Our tour guide was showing us the city's long-term plan to build on this side of the river. There is quite an extensive plan... and they have tried to run the people living there out... we saw some broken down homes here and there of those who refused to leave their home for the 'big city' across the river.
Part of the plan even includes an underground (under the river) tunnel between the two sides.
Then we drove around to the Binh Thanh District and I was able to show Uncle Bob my school!
