a true celebration for Buddha

The first part of the celebration for Buddha's birthday was prayer and meditation within the temple grounds. Rugs were set out to kneel on and everyone donned Baby Buddha paper crowns...



Then we all lined up, forming an aisle from the main temple doors out to the street and the river... the monks led the processional to then begin the celebration along the river... I believe the story/play acted out on stage was about the pillars of Buddhism... and one by one, the lotus lamps in the river were lit along with the narration.
