This is where the King used to live. It is also an important location in Nelson DeMille's book, Up Country. (Thanks to Barb for giving me this great read as a gift last year! ...It's set in Vietnam and I really enjoyed it.)
And my visit to the Imperial City this time was much more successful than when I went last July with my mom... we were only in Hue for an evening and we figured we needed to at least go see the Imperial City even though it was closed and after dark... well... we didn't see much of anything, hahaha.
