This is a view of Mount Paku from across the way (standing in the entrance to the main part of Tairua's town at the harbor)...
We went to the top of Mount Paku one afternoon... and the day was a gorgeous one at that point. BUT... that morning had been incredibly gray and cloudy... Mel and I exclaimed that it felt like a separate day!
We were able to drive most of the way up... and then a nice 15-minute walk brought us to the top of Mount Paku and an incredible 360-degree view!
Amazing (I wish I were still there!)
