Hoi An's boats

Beautiful Hoi An is located on the coast of the South China Sea... and has a river that runs through the center of town -- the Hoai River. I love that a huge part of Hoi An's community is centered around boats and bicycles!...

I need to research into this more - but I heard that these circle basket boats were invented by the Vietnamese on a coastal town when boats were made illegal at a point when other countries were fighting for control over Vietnam... need to look into this more... but the basket boats are still used all the time and I love them.

This was on An Bang Beach (beautiful, secluded beach just 3km bike ride from Hoi An's town!)
