Sunrise at Angkor Wat

The International Half Marathon began at 6:30am, so I figured I would get there an hour earlier and take in the sunrise behind the Angkor Wat Temple.

The tuk tuk ride to the temple was ...dark and cold! I was surprised at how many people were out and about that early (many getting ready for the race and others, tourists, there for the sunrise as well).

At this point, I began walking back towards the location of the start of the run...

I crossed over the bridge and began stretching... to look up and find this beautiful view.  :)

...Let the run begin! (Not a bad surrounding for my first organized run.)  :D

  1. Wow, your first half marathon and it's at Angor Wat? I am so so so jealous! Can I come and visit next year and run this one with you? Beautiful! Thanks for the pics and I hope you enjoyed every minute of the event.
